Friends-Mostly

This journal is friends mostly. That means most entries will be friends-locked or custom-locked. Certain posts with fandom content, icons, or other general things will be public.

Due to a change in service terms, I have a new journal at Insane Journal. This account remains active in order to keep in touch with friends who haven't moved. The new journal is almost entirely public.

*blink blink*

Holy crap - did you use to be LizardSnake on the old CrossGen boards? Cos I'm Booster from them, and I think you just reviewed one of my FF stories.

Wow.

Mind if I friend you then?

And there's a number of other old-time CG-ers wanting me to pass on their regards too, particularly Amy (aka Facade) and MystikChronicler.

Damn... last time I spoke to you, you were one month into the army stint. Congrats on finishing that.

You might be disappointed. I don't write that much fanfiction these days, and when I do, I don't post it to this journal.

I really hope to see your post on Jews and Israelis of color pretty soon; I'm writing a Israeli Sephardic Jewish character for my upcoming webcomic, and I'd love to explore the complexities of that particular subgroup. I may be wrong, but I see parallels with the constant sniping between Arab and non-Arab Muslims; a frequent complaint of Bangladeshi Muslims is that we are treated as heterodox and inferior by Arabs. (That hasn't always happened to me.)

Well, hi. I'm Kim and I kind of stalk Sheroes for information sometimes. I also stalk the Dancing Dove, which isn't really worth stalking since noone posts there apart from once a month or so. Recently my stalking has developed a purpose- I'm starting a CoM roleplay on LJ and I hope to have it structured and descriptive with information on it that will promise some form of continuity between players. The reason for my contacting you is a) cannot remember the username or password for my Sheroes account so I can't do it there and b) I'd like to pull out speculation directly from your comments to a post about the Earth comparison countries to the Circle-verse and include it in a post describing the locations throughout the Circle-verse that we know only the name of, so that they can be playable locations.

In short, I'm asking politely if you would mind myself and other mods of the game stealing all of your speculations about the locations and cultures of the countries around the Pebbled Sea. You can be credited if you want (or even if you don't want, since I like to give credit where credit is due), but your comment did have excellent information that has the ability to help myself and other mods research. I don't have a direct link to the post made on Sheroes, but basically it was you getting excited about the parallel between the Middle East cultures and the Circle countries. If you don't recall it I can search out the link for you, or link you to the butchered cut-and-pasted version here. Very butchered- it's meant to provide scaffolding for actual information, guidelines and content.

If you're against it just let me know we'll take out your speculations and start from scratch.

P.S. I apologise if this comment was entirely incoherent. It seems that way to me, but I didn't mean for it to turn out that way.

Look, I have no idea who the hell you are, but if you agree with what I posted you don't need my permission to make the same comparisons. Do your own research, write whatever you want. Just don't link back to my journal because it's got nothing to do with me. Leave my name out of it. Don't "credit" me just because you agreed with something I posted years ago.

That's okay, I didn't expect you to know who I am at all. As for the credit thing, some people are fanatical about it and we offered to do it because we'd prefer not to have drama later on down the line if you or people you are friends with someday found that page and claimed that it should be credited seeing as they were your thoughts. We will be researching, we will be tweaking, but the posts in that thread (mostly yours) gave a loose framework that will guide all of that.

As you wish there will be no credit to you, but the offer was a safeguard because the internet is not without wank. I'm not as ditzy as I seem in these comments but I suppose you'll have to take my word for it (not that you'll care). Thanks for taking the time to reply.
